Editorial policies

We take plagiarism seriously. If a submission is plagiarised, we will reject it and will not consider further submissions from its author.

No part of a submission may be generated by AI. You may make responsible use of generative AI tools to support and inform your research, provided you follow the rest of our guidelines. We treat AI-generated content as plagiarism, with the same consequences.

The editors consider submissions in the order in which they are received, as far as possible. Their decisions are final and are not open to appeal.

You are welcome to revise a rejected piece and submit it again. We will not, however, consider a resubmission that is unchanged or substantially unchanged.

We will not publish material that:

• discriminates against, or expresses discriminatory views about, individuals or groups on the basis of a protected characteristic within the meaning of section 4 of the Equality Act 2010;
• would expose anyone involved in its publication to criminal liability; or
• is defamatory.
